In thermal transfer printers, the main cause of printhead failure is a build-up of label residue. Under heat action, such accumulation of material can produce a layer that prevents the printhead from producing accurate labels. Also, in time, this can damage other key components of the label printer such as drive rollers, making them useless.

We recommend that a frequent cleaning of the printhead is being performed by the end user, as part of a long-term maintenance program. This will prove benefits on both printing performance and lifespan of the printer.

Our printhead cleaning kit contains all the necessary accessories and instructions to perform a simple and efficient cleaning. For an increased convenience, we recommend that cleaning process is taking place along with other operations such as label or ribbon change.
